The episode shifts tone with the early return of Niles Caulder Bruno Bichirthe mad scientist who saved each of the Doom Patrol, with a new patient: a young woman injured in a violent protest when a nearby tanker exploded and engulfed her in liquid nitrogen.

The Doom Patrol is a superhero group dedicated to stopping the evil organization, Brotherhood of Evil. Since the day it was formed, the Doom Patrol dedicated themselves to stopping the Brotherhood of Evil from taking over the world. Their continuous efforts made them well known throughout the world, and this eventually attracted the attention of a young super powered orphan named Beast Boy who sought to join them in order to make a name for himself.
